Czechoslovakian stock pot that you made your husband carry around an antique show for three hours? I know! Put a cute baby in it and take her picture. Luckily, I happen to have one......
Her brothers had to see what I was up to. I'm sure one of these days they'll smile normally and not like cheeseballs.....
*Thanks Brandy, for the idea! You mentioned you'd use the pot as a photo prop and I thought, hey.....

A Belated Birthday in June or How to Exhaust People Over Sixty...
This post can easily have multiple titles. If you recall a few posts back Aaron put together an overnight getaway to Spokane for my birthday back in March. The trip was this past weekend. The reason it was in June is because I wanted to go to a regional antique show that was there. Looking forward to going was almost as much fun as the getting away. Having very small children has given me a renewed appreciation for the simple things in life like nice weather, going to parks, seeing a rabbit in the yard.... but it also makes things that I used to take for granted like going out to eat at a non chain restaurant, sleep in, pee by myself.... very important. Hearing that Aaron's parents immediately agreed to come out and spend the night here with all of them (all of them!) was very special. The trip came at a very good time, the house and kids were started to feel like this:
So a BIG THANKS to their wonderful grandparents who made a road trip out to our house to take our kids to the park, McDonalds, Dairy Queen, drive around looking for tractors and otherwise and wrangle toddlers and feed and water our baby for the weekend. Here's an old file photo I have of them with Tommy and Ben. I didn't take a current picture because, remember, Aaron and I LEFT!
While they were living our normal life, Aaron and I drove to Spokane in the quiet, shopped the Farm Chicks Show (poor Aaron), walked around downtown, stayed at the Davenport, ate a wonderful three course dinner at Sante, slept in and I enjoyed at a massage at the hotel spa. We finished with a champagne brunch. Now of course, I have to mention my wonderful husband for 1. listening to me when I talked about wanted to go to this antique show 2. planning it all. 3. enduring an antique show with me. They even had a man cave but he walked the thing with me. Outside of the sharp intake of breath he'd take when I asked him a question about an item the only testosterone he displayed was when we waited in line to go in and seeing people come out with all sorts of antiques and rustic stuff. "I could make that," "What would you do with that?" "Look at all the crap that person bought." I thought it was going to be a long day. Here he is with a fifty year old enamel pot I bought. He carried it most of the time. I didn't know until later that no less than four people laughed at him and told that he must have bought a pot to piss in.... Thanks Babe, your the best husband!
